A cute town to visit during your stay at the Sonoma Coast Villa and Spa is Occidental. It's about a 15 minute drive from the coast inland, and includes passing through a redwood forest. Occidental has shops and restaurants, and, on Fridays, a great little farmer's market. Also, we've just learned that one of the Victorian houses in the downtown area is being rennovated into a new dining establishment -- the Barley and Hops Tavern -- with an expected opening date sometime this July. Check out the new owner's blog if you'd like a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to remodel, refurbish, and launch a new restaurant/tavern!

Well thank you for the kind post and link! We're shooting for a July 4th opening. When a customer pops in, in a state of blissful relaxation, we'll know they've just come from the Sonoma Coast Villa and Spa. When opening day rolls along, I'll drop off a couple menus and special coupons for your guests if you'd like. All our best, and Cheers!
